Everyday in the UK two Children are diagnosed with liver desease
Since the 1980's King's Hospital Paediatric Liver Centre has been providing the best care in the world for children with liver desease.
The centre is the largest and busiest in the world and thanks to the
skill of our staff saves literally hundreds of lives every year.
But the Doctors and Nurses at King's Hospital desperately need your
help. They run a world class unit but they do so from an overcrowded,
substandard ward.
Children who have just been operated on are forced to be moved further
than they should be into High Dependancy wards. Parents are forced to
go through one of the most traumatic experiences imaginable in cramped
and cluttered wards with no room for the little things,
such as pictures and toys that can make such a big difference.
Below are some pictures of a recently refurbished ward that we hope the new ward will resemble;
We are seeking to raise £1,000 for the refurbishment of this ward, (the
total target is £1,000,000) in order to reduce the suffering that these
poor families and children have to go through.
One of the main organs that excessive sugar damages is the liver. Most
children still have a choice about how much damage they do to their
livers through excessive sugar consumption. Unfortunately a child with
a Liver transplant does not.
Sugar is too harmful for a child to eat
once they have had a Liver transplant so please help save more lives
through successful liver transplants and change a child's life by
supporting our cause.
